This past week-end we went on a mini vacation in beautiful Stowe, Vermont for some fun ski and après-ski. I am happy to report that I am as still in one piece as I had not skied in many years! If you are looking to try a ski resort in the area, I highly recommend staying at Stowe Mountain Lodge. The hill is spectacular and the lodge picturesque, with cozy fireplaces, leather sofas, and warm wood and stone paneling. The staff is extremely friendly and there are plenty of activities for all to enjoy. My favorite? The smores by the fire pit from Lake Champlain Chocolates.

Stowe is a perfect destination for families as there are many great activities and kid-friendly dining options. We tried Solstice, the Stowe lodge restaurant, on our first night. The ambiance was lovely, and the restaurant beautifully designed with a majestic view of the mountain. It was perfect as we wanted to make it an early night to get enough rest to hit the slopes the next day. The menu has options for little ones and while we were not wowed, the service was nice and the convenience ideal.

We had a great experience the next night at the more casual Sushi Yoshi, down Mountain Road. Sushi Yoshi is a hodge podge of Asian cuisines, done very well. They have many family friendly options such as sushi, noodles, and teryaki dishes. Complete with a little arcade area to keep the kids busy, the whole family was very happy! If you are more in the mood for pizza, PieCasso’s will satisfy your cravings.
