Lucali has expanded its Brooklyn pizza emporium to Miami Beach and we made sure to visit on a recent trip. Situated on 1930 Bay Road, the restaurant has joined a fun neighbourhood for dining out, with a relaxed atmosphere and few visible tourists. Sardinia Enoteca, another great Italian bet, is around the corner.

Lucali’s menu is pleasantly simple, with many comfort foods to choose from, ranging from a delicious kale caesar salad to homestyle meatballs. The thin-crust pizza is perfect and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. The crowd is lively, making this is an ideal place to start a night out on the town.

Seeing the staff rolling out the pizza dough with a wine bottle was very entertaining, and is something I must try at home.

There may be a short wait since they do not take reservations, but that will give you a chance to enjoy Lucali’s outdoor bar with a nice glass of wine while you enjoy the Miami breeze.
